Bristol: Planetarium Nights

Bristol is such a vibrant and buzzing city and there is so much to do everywhere. A few weeks ago, I decided to try out one such wonderful Bristol attraction at the We The Curious Planetarium. Planetarium Nights run every Thursday and provide the chance to explore the solar system using cutting-edge technology in a purpose-built Planetarium.

I opted for the ‘Solar System Odyssey 3D’ that started at 7pm. You can grab a drink at the bar before heading into the Planetarium if you want to add some extra crazy sensations to the experience, but I’m not sure I’d recommend it if you have a tendency to get motion sickness!

The Planetarium Night was a great experience. Guided by Pilot Paul, we were whizzed through a sightseeing tour of the solar system and given the chance to tailor the experience by calling out a place to visit or choosing the type of adventure to embark on. Exploring incredible phenomenons including Solar Flares, the Aurora Borealis, Lava Domes, the Rose, Ice Ridges, the Eternal Light, Asteroid Belt and Meteor Showers, we were given a thorough but digestible insight into some of these astronomical occurrences. 45 minutes of flying through space in a 3D Planetarium was an amazing experience and I would definitely recommend going if you get the chance.

For £8.50/£7.50 (concession), the Planetarium Nights are very reasonable for an evening adventure and you can definitely make the most of the tasty restaurant surrounding Millenium Square in Bristol.
